Titre: Chemical ecology of the the cycad toxins: Plant-insect interactions between Neotropical cycads (Zamiaceae) and leaf herbivores. (présentation en Français / "Franglais")
 Résumé:
 Cycad plants protect all their tissues with a group of toxic metabolites, called azoxyglycosides (AZGs). Thus, only specialist herbivores can feed on the cycad foliage. The seminar will describe ontogenetic and phenological changes in leaf structure and chemistry which correlate with patterns of activity and herbivory by specialist insects, inlcuding beetles and butterflies. The talk will focus on how plant priorities are linked to sex and how these priorities change during a plant's life, affecting the activity of the insects.
