Calculation server


Calculation server has two Intel Xeon processors with 8 cores (2 threads per heart) or an equivalent total of 32 processors available for parallel computing. It has 64GB of memory and an SSD. The installed operating system is a Linux distribution Debian 7 (64-bit).

Key programs installed on the server computing are R and Netlogo and various compilers and utilities.

How to start:?

Connection and copying data:

The connection is only permitted by ssh. The owners of computers running Mac OS X or Linux can connect directly by opening a terminal with the command: ssh -X Those with a computer with Windows will first install a program to use the ssh protocol, for example PuTTY. Warning, if you want to use graphical windows, it will install Xming or an equivalent program. The data transfer uses a secure protocol. Commands like scp or sftp used to copy data between the local computer and the server computing. It is possible to avoid typing command lines, with using programs such as FileZilla (available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux) or WinSCP (Windows).
